When I took this photo originally it had wires across the photo that I removed. The reason I did this is because they really detracted from what the photo was about The storm is 30 to 40 kilometres away and the strike touches the ground about 10 kilometres in front of it. This is a very unusual strike. More commonly, if lightning leaves the storm, it will travel down the side of the main cell. This one travels well away from it and through the new developing storm in front of it. To the next photo or back to the photo index |
